2021 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate

London, June 10th, 2021 – Targeting the accelerated action surrounding climate change, this statement, coordinated by the seven Founding Partners of The Investor Agenda, is signed by 457 investors representing over USD 41 trillion in assets.

With climate change affecting the entire world and fast becoming a global crisis, investors and governments each have a responsibility to act swiftly and boldly.

Investors are approaching climate change action in line with The Investor Agenda, with more investors than ever embedding net-zero goals and strategies into their portfolio decisions, engaging companies to cut their emissions, and calling on policymakers to deliver robust climate action.  Investors are urgently seeking to decrease their exposure to climate change risk as a core fiduciary duty and are seeking to benefit from the opportunities associated with the transition to a net-zero emissions economy.

Giulia Guidi, Head of ESG at NextEnergy Capital said:

“We support the Investor Agenda and  are focusing on providing investors the opportunity to allocate their capital in resilient, sustainable and clean energy projects, contributing to achieving a net-zero ambition”.
