NextEnergy Capital Recognised with Two Wins at the 2026 Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards
NextEnergy Capital is delighted to have won two awards at the 2026 Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards: TNFD Report of the Year and Sustainable Investment Initiative of the Year – EMEA. The awards acknowledge excellence, innovation, and leadership across the global sustainable investment and responsible investment ecosystem.
The TNFD Report of the Year award recognised NextEnergy Solar Fund’s 2024/25 Sustainability and ESG Report, which demonstrates market-leading integration of the TNFD and ISSB frameworks into business strategy, risk management, investment decision-making, and financial materiality assessment. The Report delivers decision-useful, quantifiable disclosures that enable investors to assess sustainability and ESG impacts and dependencies, and the financial resilience of the portfolio.
NEC also received the Sustainable Investment Initiative of the Year – EMEA award for NextPower V’s acquisition of Giugliano, recognised for its innovative agrivoltaics model. The project reflects an investment approach that positions NPV at the forefront of evolving energy and land use practices. Once operational, Giugliano will restore 140 hectares of land while producing clean electricity, with at least 70% of the restored land dedicated to agricultural activities. The project, developed by Starlight, reflects the platform’s strong expertise in designing and originating innovative agrivoltaics solutions in close collaboration with local stakeholders, including Coldiretti – the largest Italian farmers association – and Legambiente – one of the most prominent environmental associations in the country – generating positive climate, nature, and people impacts.
Giulia Guidi, NextEnergy Capital’s Head of ESG commented: “ These awards reflect the strength of our integrated approach to sustainability, from how we assess and manage risk, create long term value, make our portfolio resilient and deliver risk-adjusted returns while designing, building and operating our projects. They are a recognition of the work of our teams and partners, and of our continued commitment to advancing best-in-class sustainable investment practices.”
NEC and its funds will continue to pioneer sustainable investment solutions, underpinned by a strong commitment to clear and transparent reporting of their sustainability and ESG approach and impacts.
