» Jeremy Thompson
Jeremy is a director of the Guernsey based Investment Management arm of NextEnergy Capital and is a Guernsey resident with multiple-sector experience with a focus on engineering, energy and finance. Since 2009, Mr Thompson has been a consultant to a number of businesses and a non-executive director of investment vehicles relating to the BT pension scheme.
He is also a non-executive director of two private equity funds and of listed funds including the FTSE-250 listed Riverstone Energy Limited. Between 2005 and 2009 he was a director of multiple businesses within a private equity group, a role which entailed an active participation on both private and listed companies. Prior to that he was CEO of four autonomous businesses within Cable & Wireless PLC (operating in both regulated and unregulated markets) and earlier held managing director roles within the Dowty Group.
Mr Thompson has worldwide experience within the oilfield services sector gained within what is now NationalOilwellVarco. Mr Thompson has served on the State of Guernsey’s Renewable Energy Team for eight years and as chairman for the last three years.
He serves as a commissioner with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and is an independent member of the Guernsey Tax Tribunal panel. He holds a B.Sc Engineering degree from Brunel University, an MBA from Cranfield University and in 2017 completed an M.Sc in Corporate Governance, with distinction, from Bournemouth University. He was an invited member to the UK’s senior defence course (RCDS). He holds an IoD diploma in Company Direction and is a member of the IoD, is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration and a GradICSA member.
